Safe Environment for Children
The Safe Environment for Children Project was created to protect children and other vulnerable persons from abuse. It is our moral obligation as Catholics to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and be aware of the warning signs of vulnerable persons who may be victims of abuse.
The Safe Environment program requires all adult parish volunteers and staff to be screened through the Megan’s Law database on an annual basis, all adult parish volunteers to complete training every 3 years, and all adult parish volunteers who work with minors to be LiveScan background checked prior to beginning their ministry.
If you have any questions about what you are required to do for Safe Environment, or if you have questions or concerns regarding Safe Environment at our parish, please contact the parish office at (510) 538-7941 or transfig_office@sbcglobal.net.
For more information regarding the Safe Environment for Children Project, please see the resources available on the diocesan Safe Environment webpage.
